My Final!! :D
This is what I came up with for the final for animation 352. I am very happy on what I have come up with considering that I went through multiple ideas before landing on this. I wanted to incorporate some of the things we learned in class.

New Artist:PIxar-Gina the Animator.
If you don't know what company Pixar is than you are surly missing out. I went on a mission to find inspiration for my final and Pixar ended up being the animation that gave me the idea I wanted. Gina is an animator for Pixar and worked on the movies Finding Nemo and the Incredibles. I read over the interview that she had on the Pixar website and she had some interesting things to say. She talked about how she gets started on a project, what her day consists of, and various other things.
This is some of Gina's Art Work:

Glennda Field
Glennda Field is an artist who I found browsing watercolor art in the Portland area. Although she resides in Corbett Oregon she is an award winning artist and belongs to OSA, Oregon Society of Artists. Her paintings vary from figures and faces to animals, flowers and landscapes. I am a big fan of using watercolors, it was the first medium I was introduced to and I know how hard it can be to work with. I commend the use of color and space in her work as well as making it look so easy! She does not just work in watercolors she also works in other mediums as well, like acrylics.
Acrylics.
Watercolor
New Art-Milton Glaser
Milton Glaser is a graphic Designer who is very well known for his 'I love New York' Logo. Since I am considering entering parts or all of this field I find this artist very inspirational and interesting. His use of color is fun but not distracting.

My Idea for the Final.
I am thinking about doing a man and his dog playing fetch. Simple yet complicated in its entirety.
I want to make a man and his god walk into the screen and find a ball. Then I want to have the man pick up the ball and look at it. He's then going to throw the ball and the dog is going to run after it. The owner of the dog will still be holding onto the dogs leash and will get pulled behind him.

Flying Rhino
Flying Rhino is an animation studio that I was able to tour as a young adult. This is a place where they distribute educational children's books, interactive programming, classroom materials, software, and websites. All of there products are animated with different characters to encourage children to learn while being fun, entertaining and educational.
New Art-Cindy Sherman
Cindy Sherman is an artist that I watched and learned about in my art 390 painting class. She takes images of herself and changes what she looks like. She also will dress up as different people or characters, for example her series of clowns. I enjoy the way she plays with her different photos and images. It makes a person want to look and enjoy her work that much more after knowing what her process is and how much fun she has.

Dark Horse Comics
A few years ago I was given the opportunity to go and tour Dark Horse Comics. I met the owner and was able to see how things were operated and ran. I was able to see the comic book sketches that were for Buffy and a few other popular comics like Hell Boy. I learned that not all the same artist will draw for the same comic. Different artist are brought in to draw different scenes and to draw for different comics. That is why some of the drawings look like they are done by different people.
New Art- Portland Museum of Art

Some of my Art
This is some of my art that I have done while attending school at SOU (Southern Oregon University)
Picasso
I have never been very good at abstract art. But Picasso is considered to be a master. Something that I think is funny is when artists, like Picasso, were not famous when they were living and when they died they are considered to be one of the best artist of all time. Least to say he is an inspiration to me. I love the way he uses different kinds of lines and all kinds of colors. His art is instrumental in developing artists even if the focus is in a different area.
New Artist-William Kentridge
There is a show on at 10 on PBS on Wednesday nights. There are many different artists that get shown on this show. William Kentridge is an artist that does old animation. He uses techniques that are considered old, he does not use the things that we use in class. He spins his art like one would spin it when animating in older days. He inspired me because of this. I know how hard it is to do 200 frames on the computer where you have short cuts and helpful tools. He does his animation without any of these things.
Another thing that I like is how he makes his art look.He uses charcoal and will sometimes create art by moving black pieces of art around and filming the process he goes threw. With the techniques he uses he makes it feel like there is a lot of thought behind his art. Whether there is thought behind his art or not it makes you feel like there is something different beneath the surface.
A still from on of his animated movies.
This is a photo of him sitting with some of his work. He is currently at a showing.
This piece shows how dynamic he can be as an artist.

New Artist-Neal McCullough
Its amazing what you can find on the internet. Neal McCullough is an illustrator, HandDrawnCreative.com is his website. The reason why I choose his work to "blogg" about is because it is FUN! It's light hearted and entertaining to look at. It also makes me wonder what his characters would look like if they were animated. I think it would be fun to see him use the tools that we have been using and learning in class, it might make his illistrations come to life even more than they already are.
Nelson Boren
Nelson Boren is an artist that I stumbled upon my freshman year at SOU. I was looking at something to draw for my final in one of my drawing classes and this is what I came up with. I took his ideas and made them my own. I made my friends put on these old cowboy boots and pose for me. Once I got the outline of the boots down I tried to capture the feeling that he was able to capture. The folds of the fabric and the detail that he so carefully placed into his work. There were many shadows which are hard to mimic when using pencil. I think that it would be fun to try this again but using a different type of medium.
New Artist-Jack Kirby
So I went online and found this great website- 100 greatest comic book artist of all time. I thought that this website would help me gain more insight into the comic book world, a place that I know very little about.
I found a comic book artist by the name of Jack Kirby who helped design the fantastic Four, X-men and the Hulk, this being some of his later work. His early work was a successful superhero character named Captain America which was designed for Timely Comics.
I like his bold use of color with thick black lines and contrast between the characters and the background.

Andy Warhol
An Artist that I have always looked up too and admired is the artist Andy Warhol. I love his use of color and the way he takes a normal object and turns it into an interesting piece of art. For instance the now famous Campbells Tomato Soup can painting...
Another reason why I like him is because he did some portraits of Marilyn Monroe that really opened my eyes to a new way to attack and use colors that give depth to the portraits. His paintings are fun and his use of flat colors is great.
Something that I like to do since I am an artist and a Art major here at SOU is catching people off guard with some of my paintings using color and line. I think this is a good reason as to why I like his art so much and why I look up to him as an artist.
